Leonie Fiebich, a 24-year-old basketball player from Germany, now plays for the New York Liberty in the WNBA.

Despite being drafted in 2020, her journey to the WNBA title shot was delayed as the LA Sparks and Chicago Sky passed on her.

She gained valuable experience in France, Australia, and Spain, where she was named MVP of the Spanish Liga Femenina Endesa twice.

Fiebich's role with the Liberty grew gradually, and she now plays a vital role in the team as a starter.

Her defense made a difference in the semifinals against the defending champions, Las Vegas Aces.

Fiebich set a rookie record for the Liberty in a playoff game with 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists.

She was selected for the WNBA All-Rookie Team but valued versatility over personal accolades.

Alongside her teammate Nyara Sabally, Fiebich aims to win the WNBA title, making her the second German to achieve this.

The Liberty are firm favorites in the Best-of-Five final series against the Minnesota Lynx.

Liberty's coach believes the team is in its best form yet, despite prior losses to the Lynx during the regular season.
