TikTok chef Lynn Yamada Davis, known for his humorous cooking videos, has died at the age of 67

This was announced by her son on social media on Friday.

Her son reported that she passed away in "very peaceful" circumstances, surrounded by her loved ones.

Her daughter, Hanna Mariko Shoffet, told The New York Times that her mother died of esophageal cancer.

According to a profile of the mother of four and MIT Alumni Association, she started cooking with her youngest son Linja Video.

Follower growth was slow until 2021 when a video of him making a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich went viral on TikTok.

Davis has nearly 30 million followers on various platforms, where she posts over-the-top videos of her cooking, often joking with her children.

On TikTok, where Davis has 17.8 million followers, she appears in videos tasting food from around the world, but she often cooks at home.

In the videos, a changed character "Little Linja" is often seen giving her advice or giving her cooking instructions.

In 2022, Davis won a Streamy Award honoring excellence in online video.

She was "the grandmother of the Internet," her son said at the end of Friday's video.
